UCC Secure Senior Football League Quarter Final Spot

UCC confirmed a home quarter final in the Senior Football League thanks to a narrow one point win CIT in CIT on Tuesday night last. With comfortable wins over IT Carlow and IT Tralee already, this was a much tougher task for the college side against their neighbours. CIT dictated the early stages and struck for an opening minute goal. UCC responded well though with two goals of their own to move four in front at the break, 2-04 to 1-03. CIT though managed a number of fine scores in the second period to draw level on a number of occasions. It was UCC however who found the vital scores in the closing stages to come out on top by the minimum.
UCC will now face UL in the quarter finals next Thursday, 13th November in the Mardyke with a throw in time of 2pm.
