Welcome to UCC

On behalf of UCC GAA Club, we would like to welcome each and every new student to University College Cork for the coming year. Our club offers you the opportunity to participate in a sport that is both competitive and recreational. UCC GAA Club is a great environment for making life-long friends, having fun, trying new things and staying active.

Clubs’ Day takes place this year on Tuesday 13th September in Devere Hall and we look forward to meeting you there to sign up with UCC GAA.

Throughout the course of your time in UCC, you will have the use of the Mardyke Arena. It is the centre of sport in UCC and offers top-class facilities  such as the outdoor and indoor running tracks, 25m swimming pool, cardio and weights gym, two squash courts, a large indoor sports hall, rock climbing wall and recovery facilities such as hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and a wellness centre. The Mardyke is completely free for UCC students, all you need is your student card to join.

Everyone involved in the is proud to wear the famous skull and crossbones, which represents a long tradition of sport in UCC. We’d love to welcome you into this tradition and we would also like to take this opportunity to wish all of you the very best of luck in the year ahead both academically and on the sporting field.
